The oil painting portrait has been in our client’s family for generations. It was originally in Connecticut and moved around the US until it ended up here in Houston. It had quite a few cuts, abrasions, holes, spills, stains, and indented areas, plus it needed cleaning.
Our Houston client, a collector, bought this British painting (created in the 1800’s) at an auction. The varnish had yellowed. The sky appeared to be brownish green. The painting also had some paint loss. When our client received the painting back after it was restored, he mentioned that he could see more details and the restoration brought it to life with bright instead of dull colors.
