Oil Painting Restoration Houston

Risk

The word itself brings thoughts of caution and it should. This is especially true when dealing with high dollar value paintings and paintings with high sentimental value.  I have on occasions had clients who have given me paintings that have been restored very unprofessionally.

You may run into this problem if you have filed a claim with an insurance company and it is their final decision as to what company is chosen to restore your paintings. In most cases, the insurance company may go with the lowest bid. You get what you pay for, because as we all know everything is relative.

My strong suggestion to you is to make sure that you get a very detailed description of the damage and the restoration process that will be used to restore the painting.

Another very major factor is conservation.  The restoration process must be professional enough to insure that the restoration processes used will continue to be stable for the next generation.
